The three thousand-color library

A quick visit inside the antique Venetian glass factory.

The old-world charm of artisanship.

Angelo Orsoni workshop, founded in 1888, produces the enamels used by Friul Mosaic. Its library of colors collects an exhibition of thousands of colored enamels of countless shades.

The mosaic art requires careful eyes and skillful hands in any phase of the work process.

The tesserae produced in Orsoni furnaces are all hand chiseled. The enamel slates are sliced with a tile cutter and then chiseled into tesserae by a machine invented by Orsoni a century ago.
